Each Candidate is appointed a Mountain Guide mentor in their country of training. This is facilitated through special relationships between Mountain guides and MSA schools and instructors.
Candidates receive a thorough performance evaluation which will tell them exactly what their strengths and weakness’ are. Define how and what to work on.
Next Step Recommendations: This specific feedback to each participant includes recommendations from the course instructors for Mountain Guide Training program acceptance, high performance during pre-exam training courses or to assure maximum probability in passing an exam.
Official letter of recommendation and reference from the courses lead guide. This letter is for the purpose of aiding candidates in gaining acceptance to an IFMGA Mountain Guide training programs as well as to help them obtain relevant work or practicum’s.

The training portion of the program introduces candidates to Mountain Guiding. It efficiently teaches guiding technique and develops guiding skill relevant to each of the mountain disciplines (Rock, Ice, Alpine, Ski).
The program effectively forms candidates into advanced Mountain Leaders by teaching and establishing a strong foundation of IFMGA guiding standard skills and techniques.
The result is the highest level of pre-professional performance as an independent advanced Amateur Leader based on actual IFMGA guiding skills. This there by facilitates entrance into any of the highly competitive IFMGA member countries official Mountain Guide Training program (i.e. ACMG, AMGA, BMG, AAGM, SNGM, NZMGA, NBSR).
