4 Day Activity Camp

Explore the Whistler Glacier, Try Rock Climbing, and Learn about First Nations Culture!

The Atwell Activity Camp is for youth ages 13-18. Campers are offered one of a kind programming with a unique diversity of outdoor adventure pursuits! Youth will learn about ancient glaciers, sightsee Squamish and Whistler’s natural spaces, learn rock climbing, and receive traditional experiences through cultural education. This well rounded camp will provide campers with outdoor adventures and experiential education they won’t soon forget!

Atwell Activity Camp includes all meals, accommodation, transportation, supervision, activities & tours, gondola tickets, gear rentals and safety equipment.

Sites & Locations

Campers will explore and climb in popular sites along the Sea to Sky, ranging from Squamish to Whistler. Locations visited include:

  • Whistler/Blackcomb
  • Alice Lake
  • Garibaldi Park
  • Murrin Park
  • Squamish Smoke Bluffs
  • and/or Brohm Lake


  • Whistler Glacier Tour – Campers discover an ancient glacier on this fun walking tour!
  • Peak to Peak Gondola – Panoramic 260 degree views of Whistler and the surrounding mountains.
  • Rock Climbing – Campers try their hand at Rock Climbing!
  • Guided Hiking – Experience the Sea to Sky Corridor’s natural gems through guided hiking.
  • Aboriginal Education – Campers learn about First Nations through experiencing traditional culture and practices.
  • Low Ropes Course – This exciting course requires communication, cooperation and builds essential life skills.
  • Sports & Games – Campers have free time with access to on-site sports and games.
  • Nature Walks – Campers learn about local flora and fauna on guided nature walks around Cheakamus Centre.

Base Camp


The Cheakamus Centre is will serve as the youth’s home base during the adventure camp. Immersed in nature, surrounded by rivers and tucked away in the forest, Cheakamus Centre is renown for a reason!

Packing List

The adventure camps will proceed rain, shine or wind! Therefore campers must be prepared to spend the day outside in all types of weather. Please plan, pack and dress accordingly. Here is our suggested packing list.

    Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures is a long-running professional guiding business offering the highest quality mountain tours, courses, and private excursions.   • Is transportation included?

    The adventure camps will include transportation to/from the activities. This leaves time for campers to sit back and enjoy the scenery of the Sea to Sky corridor.

  • Who is supervising my children/family?

    Mountain Skills Academy & Adventure’s certified guides and instructors are providing 24-hour supervision for camp participants. The team is made up of long-term guides and outdoor educators with years of experience.

  • Where will I be staying?

    Camp participants will stay in one of 9 rustic heated cabins at the Cheakamus Centre, Squamish BC. The centre offers year-round lodging tucked away in a peaceful natural surrounding. To see a layout of the cabins, click here.

  • What food is included?

    Food will be prepared and served by the Cheakamus Centre’s chefs. Cheakamus supplies locally sourced and thoughtfully prepared meals. Meals contain wholesome ingredients, making food from scratch, using their own herbs and vegetables from their garden. “This way we accommodate a wide range of special dietary needs, food intolerances and allergies without having to radically alter the menu, minimizing “special” servings. Sugar reduced diets, vegetarians, vegan meals, gluten free, and other food allergies are all far easier to accommodate when you use whole ingredients and are certain of their source.”

    *Cheakamus Centre is a nut-restricted facility, which includes all meals provided by Cheakamus Centre. In addition, any snacks containing nuts or nut products provided by an individual is strictly prohibited. This also includes any skin care and hair products that may contain nuts
