Summer Camps

Rock climb in world class climbing areas

Learn the ropes and develop good climbing skills in a safe environment.

Teen Climbing Camp is for ages 13-17. Learn rope skills, safety habits, belaying, develop climbing techniques, do mock leads, rappel and more. Our certified climbing guides set everything up and provide professional instruction. Designed to ensure the safety and climbing success of each participant. Camps run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Camps include climbing tours and instruction by certified climbing guides, climbing gear rentals, and all safety equipment. Lunch is not included.

Sites & Locations

Teen Climbing Camps are held in the Squamish Smoke Bluffs, or another nearby climbing location if the need arises. We meet each morning at the Squamish Adventure Centre unless specified otherwise on your confirmation details.


Build outdoor rock climbing skills including: belaying, rappelling, anchor building, safety procedures, climbing technique, mock leads, and more.

Base Camp

Days will start and end at the Squamish Adventure Centre unless otherwise noted in the logistics.

Packing List

Coastal weather can be unpredictable. Campers must be prepared to spend the day outside in all types of weather: sunshine, rain, wind, etc. Please plan, pack, and dress accordingly.

The Details

  • What is the minimum age?

    Minimum age for the kids’ camps is 8 years old.

    Minimum age for the teen climbing camps is 13 years old.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Cancelling within 10 days of the camp start date: you forfeit 100% of the camp fees.

    Cancelling with more than 10 days notice: reschedule or full refund with no penalty.


  • Who is supervising my child?

    All camps are run by Mountain Skills Academy & Adventure’s certified guides and instructors. The team is made up of professional adult guides and outdoor educators with years of experience. Each guide has had a criminal record check done. We are committed to providing responsible supervision by our guides who enjoy teaching and working with kids and youth. We set a maximum of 6 campers per guide during to ensure the safety of your child.

  • What do I need to pack?

    Weather on the West Coast and in the mountains is highly variable.  Extra layers make for a more comfortable day in case the weather changes while we are out.

    Daily temperatures at the camp in July and August range from 12-24 degrees Celsius (55-75 degrees Fahrenheit). It can be 10 degrees lower up on the mountains.

  • Is transportation included?

    The camps do not include transportation. The activities are within walking distance of each day’s the meeting point.
