Whether you have years of ice climbing experience or have never climbed before this tour is for you! Experience the thrill of ice climbing tours while you move safely up a frozen waterfall using ice axes and crampons. No climbing experience is required, we’ll show you how.

Get ready for a full day of phenomenal ice climbing!
Beginners: First time climbers will be introduced to ice climbing at a smaller, easier wall. It’s a surprisingly simple activity that any moderately fit person can enjoy.
Intermediate to Advanced: More experienced climbers will be guided up the finest ice climbs matching their ability, and all under the direct supervision of a professional ACMG guide. We also have *multi-pitch ice route and *multi-day ice trip options please contact us for these options.
No climbing experience necessary. All ice climbing equipment is included. Experience an adventure unlike any other under the direct supervision of a professional guide.
Climbing Location: Our favourable location is on Blackcomb mountain which requires access via the gondola. To climb on Blackcomb you must be at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder to access the climbing site.
Other Locations: Off-resort locations are available that do not require skiing depending on ice condition. Please inquire at time of booking for this option.
Meeting Time: 8:15am at the Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures Office (above Dominos).
The guide will have everyone sign a waiver before giving a trip briefing and gear check. You will then head to the climbing location.
Expect a full day of ice climbing, including tips and tricks from the guide, with a lunch break around noon.
The day will end at the Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures Office with a trip debrief and return of rental gear.
All climbing equipment is included.
Things to bring:
- Skis or snowboard (only for Blackcomb climbing site)
- Ski boots, snowboard boots (they work well for climbing ice)
- Warm clothing (wool/synthetic recommended)
- Warm socks (wool/synthetic recommended)
- Insulating jacket (down or similar)
- Shell jacket (Gore-tex or similar)
- Shell trousers
- Warm gloves and shell gloves
- Warm hat
- hand/toe warmers
- 30 litre day pack (can be rented if you don’t have one)
- Ice Tools
- Belay Device
