Any topics can be taught from the basics to multi-pitch systems. Come on your own or organize a group of friends and learn together.

Our private guiding program lets you design your own climbing adventure. Whether it is single pitch classics or multi-pitch routes on the Grand Wall – we can help you reach your goal. Some of the most popular multi-pitch routes we guide are below.

  • 08:15 Meet at Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures Office or Squamish Adventure Centre.
  • Meet and greet, sign waivers, safety discussion and gear check.
  • Discuss current weather and the objectives of the day.
  • Drive to course location.
  • Lessons
  • 16:30 End of day. Debrief, discuss following day.

Clothing

Weather conditions along the Coast Mountain Range are constantly changing. Plan ahead, look into weather trends, and prepare for all weather conditions.

  • Climbing pants (light pants that allow maximum mobility)
  • Tee shirt
  • Mid layer fleece or wool top
  • Weatherproof shell jacket
  • Down or synthetic insulating “puffy” jacket
  • Warm hat
  • Light gloves
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Approach shoes
  • Daypack 25-35L

Rock Climbing Equipment

  • Rock shoes
  • Harness
  • Helmet
  • Belay device
  • Locking carabiner
  • Chalk bag
  • Rope
  • Anchor building equipment

Food and water are not included.

Please note that the above individual climbing equipment, as well as all group climbing equipment will be brought by your guide.

If you own your own equipment and choose to use it please let us know in advance.

It is beneficial to practice using your own equipment under the supervision of a professional.

Food
Food is not included in this course.
Please make sure to pack a good lunch with plenty of high energy food and liquids including snacks.

Transportation
Transportation is not included in this course. You may add transportation for this course for an additional fee. Please request a quote at time of booking.

Equipment
All the equipment you will need is included in this course: rock shoes, harness, helmet, belay device, chalk bag and locking carabiner. If you own your own equipment, bring it as it will be the best fit and it is good to be famliar with it. Your instructor will bring the rest such as the rope, quickdraws, anchor material, etc.

Please advise if you require rental gear, at time of booking.
