Adventure Information

Have fun in the mountains while learning some useful outdoor skills

Our Mountain Adventure Camp give your children the chance to discover what they enjoy and be challenged and excited all day, every day. Kids Mountain Adventure Camp are geared towards children ages 8-12. This three day camp is designed for active kids with exciting adventures and educational experiences in the outdoors. Children are closely supervised by highly trained adult guides while exploring the beauty of Squamish.

Activities

Every day is different

We go to the Sea to Sky Gondola for a Via Ferrata tour and a hike; we go rock climbing and hiking in the valley and include a variety of outdoor skills in each activity. Our first priority is safety, followed closely by fun!

Location

MSAA have kid adventure camps in both Whistler and Squamish, BC Canada as well as Teen Climbing Camps!

Squamish is located about halfway between Vancouver and Whistler. If you are driving from Vancouver International Airport, make your way north through the city towards North Vancouver. You will get on the scenic Sea to Sky Highway (Hwy 99 North) and follow it north to the town of Squamish.

The teen climbing camps are located at Klahanie Campground.

Evening activities

The fun doesn’t! We have a fun packed evening of activities and campfire games. Everyday is different so you will never get bored and will make plenty of new friends throughout your camp!

Sample Day Itinerary:

A typical day at camp comprises of two activities, one activity in the morning then another in the afternoon. Exceptional instruction from our trained guides, partnered with a remarkable location makes MSAA Kids Mountain Adventure Camp a unique and special place.

Schedule: 

Day 1: Drop off location for the first day will be at the Squamish Adventure Centre.

Day 3: Pick-up location for the final day will be at the Klahanie Campground.

Breakfast:

Breakfast will be served by our guides to fuel the you ready for a full day of activities. Breakfast includes:

*please note breakfast will not be served on the first day of the camp

Morning Activities: 

Activities include: Via Ferrata, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Outdoor Skills.

Lunch: 

Worked up an appetite? It’s time to replenish your energy stores ready for the afternoon activities. If you still have energy left the guide will be ready for a quick game or you can chat with new friends your have made!

Afternoon Activities: 

Activities include: Via Ferrata, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Outdoor Skills.

Dinner: 

Time for dinner – a different meal will be prepared by your guide each evening! We will also be serving a delicious pudding or you can stick with fruit if you prefer.

*dinner is not included on the final day

Evening Entertainment: 

Campfires, quizzes and much more in the evening. Enjoy the evening with your new friends you have made during your days activities.

Bedtime: 

Time to chill out after a hard day full of fun activities! Then lights out and time to sleep before doing the same all over again tomorrow.

* please be aware that this is a sample itinerary, a full itinerary will be planned by MSAA shortly before the camp.

What do I need to pack for camp?

Packing Checklist

Clothing:
  • Comfortable, loose clothing
  • Extra changes of very warm clothes and very cool clothes
  • Clothes for cold nights (sweater, sweat pants, etc.)
  • Weatherproof shell jacket and pants. Shorts are acceptable depending on conditions
  • Warm layer(s)
  • Light gloves
  • Hiking shoes or sturdy closed-toe shoes
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen (or any other UV protection)
  • Essential Toiletries
  • Water
  • Snacks (Please no items containing nuts)
  • Small Backpack
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Optional items such as cameras, writing supplies, musical instruments, books, games

Camping: 

  • Sleeping mat
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
If any medication will be required during the day please notify the MSAA office before hand, please ensure that any medications are clearly labelled and handed to staff.

Weather varies from warm, dry days to cooler, rainy days. Daily temperatures at the camp in July and August range from 12-24 degrees Celsius (55-75 degrees Fahrenheit).

Bring a mix of summer clothing and warmer clothing for the cool nights and mountain activities. Bring a small backpack on outings to carry a water bottle and any extra layers in case the weather changes while we are out.
