Via Ferrata, Italian for “Iron Way” is an engineered vertical adventure, assisted by metal rungs and a specialized cable system. This exciting trip is suitable for children and families alike, and is a fully guided experience. With awe-inspiring views of the stunning Howe Sound, and the nearby peaks, this is sure to be an adventure you won’t soon forget.
You begin with your guide, hiking down from the Summit Lodge, becoming immersed amongst beautiful old growth forest. After this short hike, arrive at the “Flight Deck”, where the guide will clip you into the safety cable and your Via Ferrata adventure begins! Along your journey, traverse a catwalk, cross bridges, and ascend up glacier-worn granite, aided by the steel rungs and the fixed cable system. Amongst stunning surroundings, you will bear witness to Howe Sound below, and the snow-capped peaks of Sky Pilot above. The route completes with a spectacular finish below the sun deck of the Summit Lodge, where you can wind down and watch other groups top out from below.
Daily tours departing 9:15am, 12:00pm and 3:00pm, with later departures on weekends.
Approximately 2.5 hours duration for each group.
Tips for a great Via Ferrata trip
Dress according to weather conditions.
Wear appropriate footwear ie. hiking boots, running shoes (open toed shoes and sandals are not appropriate)
Sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat
A small backpack for snacks, drinks and any extra clothing layers
Optional light gloves
Camera with a leash to capture the adventure
