Meet your guide at any three of our backcountry guiding destinations:
Based on conditions reports provided by our ACMG Guides, we aim to run tours safely in Whistler, Squamish, and the Duffey Lake Area. Trailheads to these areas can be accessed using ski lifts, helicopters, 4×4 shuttles, and/or roads. Any additional transportation methods are not included in the cost of the Powder Punch Card.

MSAA Course Discount:
The Powder Punch Card course discount can only be used by the original Punch Card purchaser. If MSAA staff find that a Punch Card user has misused the code, all remaining tours will be revoked from their punch card without a refund.

Powder Punch Card Season & Availability
Each Powder Punch Card is valid between December 10th – April 30th. Between January 1st – March 31st, MSAA will guarantee to post the minimum number of tours to cover all Powder Punch Card member credits. Depending on conditions reports from our guides, MSAA will strive to provide additional tours in December and April. No refunds will be issued for unused days/credits, and they may not be applied to the following season.

All reservations must be made before the 48-hour cutoff period:
To allow us to plan the tours, MSAA asks that all reservations be made at least 48 hours in advance. However, we will do our best to accommodate bookings within this period.

Non-transferrable:
Powder Punch Cards & individual credits cannot be transferred or redeemed by another user.

Powder Punch Card members can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the start time (8:30 am) of their respective tour

Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of their respective tour start time (8:30 am) will not be able to reschedule or have their credit refunded

Buddy Pass:
Punch Card holders may extend a guided ski day to a friend or family member for $199+tax per day. Punch card holders can only redeem two additional Buddy Passes during the season

Additional Days:
Additional days can be purchased for $169+tax per day and used throughout the 2024/25 ski season. They cannot be transferred or redeemed by another person.

MSAA reserves the right to reschedule guided ski touring days: During the season, our ACMG guides might decide not to ski due to undesirable and/or unsafe conditions such as high avalanche risk, rain, icy slopes, or any conditions that can affect members and guide safety. If we make the hard decision to cancel a guiding day, we will refund credits & make up the date later throughout the season

Activity-Specific FAQs

How do you ensure similar ability?

MSAA offers two group options, Blue Group and Black Diamond Group, so that guests are matched with others who share a similar skill level, fitness, and terrain goals. We vet all participants prior to each tour to ensure group compatibility. This makes the day safer, more enjoyable, and better tailored to your progression.

What are the free refresher & tech clinics? When can I take them?

All Punch Card holders receive access to one free Avalanche Safety Refresher or Crevasse Rescue Refresher per season. These are typically offered in early December (pre-season) to help skiers brush up on critical safety skills before the core winter months. Spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.

When do you run tours?

We run tours every week throughout the season, with extra days added depending on guide availability and demand.

Is there a minimum number for a tour to run?

Yes, we require at least three people for a tour to go ahead. If we do not reach this number, we will reach out to the group with alternative options including a small fee or rescheduling.

What is the maximum group size?

Group sizes will be a maximum of 6 skiers & snowboarders to 1 ACMG Guide for backcountry tours. Clinics will have a max ratio of 10 skiers & snowboarders depending on which clinic you choose.
