We’re big fans of hiking here in the Sea to Sky Corridor. After all, how else does one access the best of the outdoors?
One Sunday, September 13, Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures is teaming up with the Sea to Sky Gondola, MEC, Adventure Smart and The North Face for the second annual HikeFest, a day to celebrate all things hiking and the activities on offer at this beautiful location in Squamish.
With our goal to get more people like you climbing and hiking in the mountains, as a special offer during Hikefest Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures will be running our Squamish Via Ferrata Tour for the special price of $25! This offer is for one day only on September 13 as cooperation between ourselves and Sea to Sky Gondola. Those wishing to try this accessible mountain climbing experience will need to pre-register and meet at the base of the Gondola at 9:15 a.m. We will also have guides available at our booth at the top of the gondola to talk about the Via Ferrata tour, who can do it and what first-time climbers can expect from this experience.

HikeFest has a slew of other events taking place throughout the day including trail running, outdoor games, hiking (of course!) and informative tours about the facilities, trails and terrain around the Sea to Sky Gondola. The Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia will be on hand to talk about protecting backcountry access and the North Face will be leading a family tour on Alpine Alley, featuring Thora the Eagle and Hagrid the Owl on the 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. tours.
For more information and a full schedule head over to the Sea to Sky Gondola HikeFest event page and check out the Facebook page for updates on all the activities on offer. Spots are limited, so be sure to register for all the activities you want to participate in with your family and friends. This is a kid-friendly even with plenty to keep the little ones occupied throughout the day.
