Trip INFORMATION
The Duffey Lake Area offers several huts to choose from, situated 90 minutes northeast of Whistler. This remote destination is known for some of the best backcountry skiing. Your guide will lead you from the parking lot through old-growth forests and alpine meadows to your hut. The huts are located in picturesque alpine meadows, allowing you to plan your next ski line right from the comfort of the hut.
Access to all the huts is from the Duffey Lake Road. The approach from the parking lots to the huts takes around 2 -3 hours. The terrain around the hut provides excellent options for all levels of skiers and boarders, ranging from gentle or steep tree skiing to long alpine runs.
Transport: Transport to the parking lot is not included.
*Accommodation price not included, guest will be subject to an additional $20 (ACC Member) to $25 (non-ACC Member) fee depending on ACC membership status.**All guided trips are subject to a minimum number of participants. 48 hour notice will be given if the minimum number has not been reached.
Day 1
- 8:00 am meet for gear check and waiver signing
- 8:30 am drive to Duffey Lake Road
- 10:30 am leave from the parking lot towards the hut ( 2 -3 hour approach) - Drop gear off at the hut and possibly ski the rest of the afternoon.
- Evening meal with Guide and debrief.
Day 2
- Morning Breakfast.
- 9:00 am Skiing until afternoon
- Evening meal with Guide and debrief.
Day 3
- Morning Breakfast.
- Ski to the parking lot and drive back to Whistler
- Debrief

Equipment:
- Touring skis or splitboard and skins
- Poles (telescopic poles required for splitboarders)
- Ski / snowboard boots
- Lift pass
- 45L + pack
- Light Sleeping Bag
- Headlamp with fresh batteries
- Water bottle(s) (Minimum 1L capacity)
- Multi-tool
- Sunglasses, sunscreen
- Goggles & Helmet
- Personal Care Kit (toilet paper, toothbrush/toothpaste, personal medical drugs)
- General Repair Kit: to repair packs, clothing, Thermarest, etc.
- Blister kit/First Aid
- Avalanche safety kit
- Harness (optional depending on location)
- Glacier travel kit (optional depending on location and only if you know crevasse rescue)
- Ski and/or boot crampons depending on conditions and objective
- Mountaineering axe depending on conditions and objective
- Small stove (Butane suggested)
- Cooking/eating utensils
- Cup/bowl Food to be determined, no sleeping pad is required
